Courtois apologizes to Real Madrid for his chant

Real Madrid new signing Thibaut Courtois has tender an apology to the Los Blancos fans for his chants against them during his days with Atletico Madrid.

Atletico Madrid has been part of the history of the Belgian shot-stopper, and during his time at the club, the rival between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid was tensed as the Bernabeu outfit denied Diego Simeone’s men the Champions League.

When questioned, he didn't hesitate in his response.

"At that time I was very young," he said to reporters.

"I let myself go for the moment, but I ask for forgiveness as it's not typical of me.

"I will give everything for the shield of Madrid."

Courtois went on to say that if he played the European Super Cup against Atletico, it would be a "special" game.

Courtois and his new teammates will be up against Atletico Madrid in the European Super Cup on Wednesday at A. Le Coq Arena, Tallinn in Estonia.
