Thibaut Courtois has sent a message to his former Chelsea team-mate Eden Hazard after completing a £35.5million switch to Real Madrid on Thursday.

Courtois was presented to the Santiago Bernabeu fans and during his unveiling, the Belgian revealed that he would be thrilled to see his ex-Chelsea teammate Hazard to follow him to Spain from the Stamford Bridge this summer.

“I want to thank them for the last four years I have been there,” he said. “I had to take the chance (to come back) because my two kids are here. I want to live close to them and see them grow up.

When the new Real Madrid signing was asked about Hazard, he said: “Eden congratulated me. He knows it is a dream for me to be here. I would like to be always by his side. He is a great player and if he could come here, it would be fantastic.”
