France manager Didier Deschamps has dropped big-name players from the 23 man provisional squad World Cup squad for this summer’s tournament
Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema, Manchester United star Anthony Martial, Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette despite missing much of the season, Manchester City left-back Benjamin Mendy make the final cut.
Benzema was overlooked why Red Devils winger has struggled for playing time under Jose Mourinho since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in January but Lacazette has been in excellent form for the Gunners since returning from injury, though Deschamps has opted to pick his former teammate Olivier Giroud instead.

which includes Wissam Ben Yedder, Kingsley Coman, Benoit Costil, Mathieu Debuchy, Lucas Digne, Adrien Rabiot, Mamadou Sakho, Moussa Sissoko and Kurt Zouma.
Les Bleus were drawn alongside Australia, Denmark and Peru in Group C, and are the heavy favourites to advance to the knockout stages.
