Didier Drogba has reacted after lifting a Soccer Aid trophy on Chelsea return as he helps World XI beat England at Stamford Bridge on penalties in a biggest charity football match in the world.

The 41-year-old former Côte d’Ivoire international spent nine seasons with the Europa League Champions, scoring 164 goals in nearly 400 appearances.

John Terry, the former Chelsea captain, was only seven minutes away from guiding England to a third successive triumph in front of his adoring fans before a late equaliser from reality star Kem Cetinay to end the encounter 2-2 which send the tie to a penalty shootout.

Drogba was the one celebrating success after scoring the last spot-kick as he for Chelsea’s first Champions League title in 2012.

This was the eighth time there had been a Unicef charity match involving celebrities and sports stars held in this country since it was launched in 2006, an impressive £30m has been raised for disadvantaged children.
