Captain Jorge Ronaldo and Dimitri Payet were unable to inspire Olympique Marseille to victory as former Nigeria captain, Vincent Enyeama registered another clean sheet on Friday night in the Ligue 1.
Though Enyeama shut out Olympique Marseille in their Ligue 1 clash at the Stade Pierre Mauroy to increase his number of clean sheets for the season, it amounted to less as the tie ended in a barren draw.
Lille had struggled on home soil of late, failing to win any of their last five matches while Marseille, who started the game just two points clear of sixth-placed Girondins de Bordeaux, had triumphed on their last two visits.
With the game already heading for a stalemate , Rolando came desperately close to touching a Payet free-kick goalwards in the 79th minute.
However, it was Lille who would have snatched the points but for Pelé, who brilliantly parried Eder's point-blank header onto the crossbar in the 84th minute to deny former Olympique Marseille boss Franck Passi a win over his successor, former Lille coach Rudi Garcia.
It turned to be a big day for Enyeama who made his 140th Ligue 1 appearance a memorable one.
