Everton and Manchester United have agreed an initial fee of £22m for former Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, according to Sky Sports.
The France has played 47 times for the United since he was bought by former Reds boss Louis van Gaal for £25m from Southampton in July 2015 and has only featured eight times under Jose Mourinho this season, including three Premier League appearances.
United manager Mourinho has in an interview with Sky Sports after Tuesday's EFL Cup victory over Hull City
confirmed that Schneiderlin was closing in on a move to Everton.
"Before the match I was informed by Mr [Ed] Woodward that the situation is to close, so Morgan is more than probably going to Everton."
Sky Sports understand that the Toffees have agreed an initial fee of £22million for the midfielder. The deal could rise to £24m with add-ons.
Should the deal see the light of day, Schneiderlin will be working with Koeman for a second time, having spent two years under the Dutchman at Southampton.
Meanwhile, Koeman who has already signed 19-year-old forward Ademola Lookman from Charlton for £11m
still retains a strong interest in another United player who is also considered an Old Trafford outcast Memphis Depay.
