Ex-Chelsea stars relish their triumph at Star Sixes

Former Chelsea players involved at the Star Sixes tournament in London over the past few days, as a France side including former skipper Marcel Desailly and William Gallas were crowned champions.

The competition, which took place at the O2 Arena in the capital, featured 12 teams made up of world-renowned former international players including the likes of Rivaldo, Roberto Carlos, Alessandro Del Piero and Carles Puyol.

Former Chelsea stars the likes Paulo Ferreira, Deco, Jose Bosingwa and Maniche, particularly well represented Portugal. While Italy, Nigeria, and Germany fared slightly better and reached the quarter-finals, with Marco Amelia, Celestine Babayaro and Michael Ballack featuring for those three teams respectively, Juliano Belletti was part of the Brazil side.

France Youri Djorkaeff fired home the tournament-winning goal for France as they edged out Denmark 2-1 in a tight final, with Desailly and Gallas taking to their personal Instagram pages to capture the celebratory scenes.
