Former FIFA U-17 World Cup winner Ganiyu Oseni winner donated 30 pairs of jersey to the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan.
The 28-year-old Nigerian forward featured in the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup in the Korea Republic where he played six games and shot one goal for the world champions as Golden Eaglet clinch their third title under the late coach Yemi Tella.
Oseni who is now plying his trade with Vietnam club Hà Nội F.C made the donation, at the event held at the Lekan Salami Stadium as he was represented by Akorede Ibrahim Ortega.
"I have always wanted to give back to the sports that made me and here I am now. I love the club and I love the people and I wish that the club gains promotion at the end of the season to play in the Premier League", Akorede Ibrahim Ortega, who represented the former Esperance of Tunisia forward declared.
Speaking after the jerseys were unveiled, General Manager of 3SC, Rasheed Balogun, appreciated the gesture from Oseni, describing it as a morale booster for the Stars.
"This is highly commendable and we pray that Oseni succeeds at his present base in Vietnam and I implore other well-meaning individuals to emulate his gesture", the General Manager prayed.
Oseni tarted his career at Prime United before a spell with Esperance, CSKA of Moscow, Kiên Giang F.C, Hoàng Anh Gia Lai F.C, Kahramanmaraşspor, Long An F.C, Becamex Bình Dương F.C, XSKT Cần Thơ F.C and Ha Noi FC.
