Wilshere returns for Stoke, Lacazette doubtful

Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane has warned Jack Wilshere he risks being surprised if he thinks he will get a big contract offer in the summer when his deal runs out at Arsenal as his career is 'drifting'.

Keane has also advised the England international to sign whatever he is offered by Arsenal, as his injury problems means it will be difficult to get a better offer away from the Emirates.

The England midfielder had a woeful game against CSKA Moscow in the Europa League quarter-final second leg, which Arsenal drew 2-2 to progress 6-3 on aggregate - having been 2-0 down and one goal from elimination.

And Keane slammed Wilshere for his lack of fitness and inability to contribute to the attack and suggested his days at the top may be numbered.

Speaking on ITV, Keane said: “You need to be fit if you're a top-level footballer, and every time I see him he's getting treatment or he's carrying a knock.

“I've never been a big fan of his, for an attacking player he doesn't get enough goals or assists. The guy's career is drifting, I don't like to see it, but as bad as Arsenal were, he was really bad.

“Has he been offered a contract? If I was him I would sign it, because if he thinks he's getting big offers in the summer he'll be surprised. The big question about him, on top of what he lacks, is that he never seems fit. That's pretty important.”
