It has been revealed that Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr and Captain Mikel Obi differed on the choice of Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo as the FIFA Player of the Year which held yesterday in Zurich, Switzerland.
Rohr's final three for the award were Antoine Griezmann, Lionel Messi, and Manuel Neuer.
However, Super Eagles Captain Mikel Obi who just moved to Chinese side Tianjin Teda agreed on the choice of the German goalkeeper but differs on Ronaldo.
The 29-year-old picked Ronaldo, Messi, and Neuer in that order and eventual it was the Portuguese that was announced as the winner last night.
Thus, Ronaldo became the first player to win the FIFA Award since its divorce from the Ballon D'Or this year - an accolade he also won in December for the fourth time before leading Real Madrid to win the Club World Cup.
