FIFA U-17 W/C 2019 Draw: Golden Eaglets in Group B

The Golden Eaglets have been drawn in Group B alongside Hungary, Ecuador and Australia in the first round of the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup in Brazil.

Nigeria are among the six top seeds for October tournament along with the nations hosts Brazil, Mexico, Spain, France and Japan will 

Manu Garba side who finished a disappointing fourth at the U17 AFCON in Tanzania earlier this year will begin their campaign on October 26 against Hungary before taking on South America’s Ecuador on October 29, before they take on Australia in their final group game on November 1.

Former Nigeria international Celestine Babayaro who was the draw as a FIFA Legend, along with Brazil’s Sonny Anderson, while Africa’s other flag bearers of Angola draw in Group A, Senegal in D and Cameroon in E.

The tournament will kick off on October 26 but Golden Eaglet are the most successful team at this level having won the World Cup a record five times – 1985, 1993, 2007, 2013 and 2015.
