FIFA World Club Cup: All you need to know about it

The FIFA World Club Cup is a FIFA tournament that features continental champions from the six confederations, here are what you need to know pertaining to this year’s tournament in Dubai.

 The six confederations’ champions  that would partake in the tournament includes Real Madrid (Europe), Wellington (Oceania), Kashima Antlers (Asia), Esperance de Tunis (Africa), CD Guadalajara (Concacaf) and River Plate ( South America) they would be joined by the host nation Al Ain, the 2017/18 Arabian Gulf League champions.

The first match of the tournament takes place between Al Ain and  Wellington on December 12.

Real Madrid announce 23-man squad for Club World Cup

The winner of that match plays Esperance de Tunis in the second round while Kashima Antlers play CD Guadalajara in the other half of the draw.

River Plate and Real Madrid enter at the semi-final stage, with their first matches played on December 18 and December 19 respectively.

Real Madrid will play Kashima Antlers or CD Guadalajara in the semis while River Plate will play the winner of the other second-round match.

The final could be between Real Madrid and River Plate on December 22.

TReal Madrid will be hoping to win the title for the third time in a row at the United Arab Emirates.
