There are strong indications that Chelsea outcast Diego Costa will this week complete a move away from the London club.
It is understood that Atletico Madrid are
hoping to tie up a £54m deal for the striker who has vowed never to play for the Blues after the spat with manager Antonio Conte.
Costa has been deemed surplus to requirements by Conte at Stamford Bridge and he is refusing to return to the club.
The Spanish international who is currently at his family home in Brazil,
has made it clear he wants to rejoin Atletico.
But the Spanish are banned from signing players until January and that scuppered their plans to sign the 27-year-old this summer.
However, according to Marca, they are now close to agreeing to a deal that would see Costa join them at the start of 2018.
reportedly deep in talks with Chelsea and they are confident negotiations will be wrapped up this week.
The total fee for Costa's transfer is expected to be £54m, but some of that will be made up by add-ons.
