Enyeama looks beaten

Two goals in the first half was all Rennes needed to beat Vincent Enyeama’s Lille at the Roazhon Park last night in the French Ligue 1.

Enyeama, 34, was in goal for 90 minutes but could not prevent his side from suffering their third consecutive league defeat.

It too the home side just three minutes to open scoring when FirminMubele stabbed home the first goal and just be 30 minutes mark Giovanni Sio scored the second to the disgust of Lille’s manager Franck Passi as he raged on the sideline.

Enyeama has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Ligue 1 and there are talks of him returning to the national team of Nigeria after his shock retirement but for now he is focused on helping his club secure their place in the French top flight.

Lille are currently placed 14th with 37 points, six above the relegation zone and with six matches left, there plenty points to fight for.
