Super Eagles forward Odion Ighalo could find himself in a transfer deadline drama as he is reluctant to move to China despite Watford accepting a £20m offer from Changchun Yatai.
According to reports from Sky Sport, the 27-year-old had agreed person terms with the Chinese Super League side of around £200,000-per-week but the former Granada forward feels it’s not the right time in his career to move to Asia.Read Also | Conte feels sorry for Mikel Obi
However, in a separate report FCNaija.com gathered from DailyMail.co.uk – premier league side West Bromwich Albion who initially pulled out of the bid for the Nigerian for being too expensive has returned for the striker but this time they want him on loan.
The Baggies sold England forward Saido Berahino to Stoke City and are desperate to sign a replacement before the January transfer window closes today. Manager Tony Pulis is a huge admirer of Ighalo and he is keen to bring him to The Hawthorns.
With the imminent departure of Ighalo, Watford have already boosted their attacking options with the capture of M'Baye Niang on loan from AC Milan and Mauro Zarate for £2.5m from Fiorentina.
Ighalo has scored just once this season in the premier league for Watford but finished last campaign as the Hornets topscorer with 16goals in 37 appearances.
