Rangers boss Gerrard has handed lifeline to Nigerian star

Rangers coach Steven Gerrard target another Nigeria striker Dominic Solanke to replace flop Umar Sadiq in Janaury transfer window.

The 21-year-old former Nigeria U23 international made just five appearances for the Light Blues and has been sent back to Italy midway through his disastrous season-long loan with Gers.

According to Sun, Gerrard has given the green light for Sadiq to leave Rangers, even with three weeks before the transfer window opens for him to land a replacement and Roma star departure at Ibrox Stadium will pave the way for Liverpool legend to bring to Reds striker Dominic Solanke on loan for the remainder of the 2018-2019 season.

Sadiq failed to start a Scottish Premiership game during a terrible five month after coming from Roma on a season-long loan

Olympic silver medalist has previously had loan spells with Torino, Bologna and NAC Breda.
