Nigeria Golden Eaglet beat Niger Republic 2-1 in their semi-final clash at the ongoing WAFU B 2019 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying tournament at the Seyni Koutnche Stadium, Niamey to battle arch-rival Ghana in final.

Akin Amoo put Nigerian in the lead two minutes before halftime in the encounter from a close range after Mohammed Ibrahim provided the pass before Olakunle Olusegun brilliant effort from the edge of the box to make 2 0 early the second period.

It was his fourth goal of the tournament and he was also named Man of the Match.

Junior Mena of Niger pulled a goal back on the dot of 90 minutes but were unable to find the equaliser.

It was the second victory of the competition for Manu Garba’s charges who lost 3-2 to already eliminated Burkina Faso in their first game.

Saturday’s zonal U17 AFCON final will be a winner-takes-it-all as the losers will miss out altogether.
