Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima has given a brand new car to one of the assistant coaches of the Super Eagles, Imama Amapakabor who has now been hired to handle El-Kanemi Warriors.
Imama was brought in to replace Ladan Bosso and he has since been handed a lucrative deal which is reported to fetch him N1m monthly and an awesome N15m sign-on fee.
With debate raging on whether the car was given as an official vehicle or as a gift
El Kanemi Warriors spokesman Tony Obaseki told SCORENigeria: “The Governor clearly pronounced the car is a personal gift from him and the coach could drive it home from Maiduguri to his hometown in Okrika in Rivers State,”
“The Governor has even directed that the car papers be handed to the coach.”
Obaseki said the gift was a pleasant surprise even to the club management.
“No one was aware that the Governor will give the coach a car, so we were all taken aback by his generosity,” he said.
“The Governor is happy that Imama has left his comfort zone to come to a place where normalcy is only returning to.”
