Guardiola faces major injury worries ahead of UCL clash

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola is facing major injury worries ahead of Champions League clash against Dutch Eredivisie Champions Feyenoord.

The Etihad Champions will travel to Netherlands for the first leg of the Clash at the De Kuip Stadium on Wednesday at 19:45 (GMT).

Manchester City was in blistering form over the weekend as the rip Liverpool apart at the Etihad Stadium with a 5-0 scoreline while Feyenoord recorded a 4-2 win over Heracles on Saturday.

However, Guardiola will be unable to call upon some of his stars for the Champions League opener against the Dutch Champions.

Vincent Kompany and Raheem Sterling won’t be able to make the cut due to injury. The duo was also absent on Saturday’s clash with Liverpool due to injuries.

Meanwhile, Germany international Ilkay Gundogan could make his first appearance in nine months. The 26-year-old hasn’t featured for Manchester City after suffering a knee injury back in December.

Manchester City’s goalkeeper Ederson is also doubtful for the game after securing injury during the weekend Premier tie with Liverpool, City won 5-0 at the Etihad Stadium.

Eredivisie’s top goal scorer Nicolai Jørgensen has been ruled out with a hamstring injury.
