Shearer, Vardy, others mock Kane after Stoke goal decision

Harry Kane was the subject of a trolling by the official FA Cup twitter handle, following his bad day at the office against Manchester United on Saturday.

The England striker had an evening to forget in the FA Cup semi-final loss to United as the duo of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones ensured he barely had a sniff at goal and it was on that premise that the official FA Cup twitter handle trolled the 24-year old.

After the final whistle had blown in United's 2-1 win, a one-second video of defender Chris Smalling saying Kane's name was posted by the FA Cup's official account below the text: “What's that in your pocket, Chris?”

The joke was retweeted more than 20,000 times on Saturday night, but not everyone saw the funny side.

Some fans were unimpressed with what they deemed as unprofessional conduct from the official account of a national tournament.

One responded: “Don't want to seem salty, but how can the official page get away with slating England's biggest hope in the summer like this? Seems like an unneeded comment from what is supposed to be a neutral source.”
