Zinedine Zidane has dropped Eden Hazard and Dani Carvajal from Real Madrid 19-man squad to face Real Club Deportivo Mallorca in the Saturday La Liga encounter at Iberostar Stadium.

The 28-year-old Nigeria international arrived at Santiago Bernabeu this summer from Chelsea for a fee of around £90m but has experienced a somewhat underwhelming start to his Los Blancos career.

Hazard has not been included in the squad after his wife gave birth to the couple's fourth child which means he won't be on duty this weekend, while Carvajal played with the Spanish national team in the international break but Zidane to decide right-back the weekend off.

Hazards has only appeared four times in La Liga this season, owing to an injury to his left thigh but the forward he has netted just one goal and one assist, both of which came in a 4-2 defeat of Granada.

Real Madrid are currently on top of the table with 18 points after playing eight La Liga matches.
