Hertha Berlin wants to unite want-away Manchester United front man Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Real Madrid disturbed striker Cristiano Ronaldo in their team.
Last week, the German-based team offered Ibrahimović the chance to win his first Bundesliga title after news spread that the injured striker would not be receiving a contract extension.
Hertha claims they have “no cash”. Instead, they offered a ‘bid’ consisting of “great fans” and the possibility of adding a new trophy to his long list of accolades.
But unfortunately, there was no response from the Swedish veteran so Hertha had to look elsewhere for a new forward.Related: Chelsea star agrees deal abroad with a condition attached
The Capital based team wasted no time today after early-morning reports of Cristiano Ronaldo’s wish to leave Spain dominated the news.
The Portuguese international is subject to a tax investigation and has reportedly expressed his desire of a summer transfer as he feels Real Madrid does not give him the necessary backing in times like this.
Hertha Berlin repeated their previous tactic by tweeting the Portuguese star:
I guess you have to respect their honesty, but they should really stop playing the “no cash” card so early in negotiations.
It’s highly unlikely that Ronaldo would want to move to Berlin to be paid in ‘love’ instead of actual money but I guess you there’s no harm in asking.
Paris Saint German, Manchester City, and Manchester United are rumoured to be the striker’s likely destination if he leaves the Spanish capital.
He has always said he wishes to return to Manchester United where he made his name under the guidance of Sir Alex Ferguson.
