The home-based Super Eagles team have admitted they were handed a scare by their Cameroonian counterparts during their friendly game in Morocco on Wednesday ahead of the CHAN tournament.

The game between the Eagles and the Indomitable Lions ended in a stalemate as neither side could find the back of the net and the Nigerian side have rated the game against Cameroon as a good test of their preparedness for the tournament which begins this weekend.

“The game was a good practice game, it was not about the result but how the players performed,” said team spokesman Toyin Ibitoye.

“It was a very physical game as both teams went for it, good for us, this was more than just a friendly. But so far, no injury to worry about.

“The game showed that this tournament won’t be a stroll in the park.

“The boys are hungry to do well, they are motivated to deliver with the World Cup on the horizon.”

The Eagles will train later this evening before they depart Rabat for Tangier tomorrow.

The trip to Tangier is two hours by road.
