Sevilla striker Wissam Ben Yedder has revealed how he was able to put two goals past Manchester United's David de Gea whom he described as 'one of the best in the world'.

Ben Yedder may have won the plaudits for his Solskaer act at Old Trafford in Tuesday's remarkable match but the French striker deserves just as much credit for his attitude, having been left on the bench.

Speaking to after the encounter, the Frenchman said: "De Gea is a great goalkeeper, one of the best in the world.

"I went with my instinct, without really thinking too much. It's all about giving it your best and getting in the moment, even if you're playing against a great team like Man United.

"It was a difficult match, a very tight match, but we managed to score the goals we needed. The coach told us to believe that anything was possible. I think we deserved it – we played very well today.

"Against a team of United's quality, especially with a coach like Mourinho, we knew this was going to be tough and the first goal would liberate one team or the other. But I have faith in myself and I knew I’d score." said Ben Yedder

Not only has he been relegated to second choice, behind Muriel, since Montella arrived – he was even behind Sandro in the first leg.

Wissam Ben Yedder has eight goals in 506 minutes in this season's #UCL, a goal every 63.25 minutes; only Cristiano Ronaldo (one every 60 mins) and Michy Batshuayi (one every 61 mins) have a better ratio of the players who've scored more than one goal.
