Nigerian Women Football League side, Ibom Angels of Uyo on Wednesday held hosts Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt to a stalemate in a Match Day 10 game at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Elekahia. The rain-soaked encounter had a toothless first 45 minutes as just one shot was recorded on target by either side. Cynthia Aku's effort from inside the box had Ibom goalkeeper, Andy Lucky saving with so much ease and that came just five minutes to the end of the first half. The League Champions goalkeeper, Tochukwu Oluehi was practically on sabbatical in the first half as the visitors who largely concentrated on stopping their hosts in the midfield had no shot on target but could manage just one off the post as both sides headed for the break. In the second half, Edwin Okon was forced to make two crucial changes in the 59th and 66th minute as two of his defenders, Ugo Njoku and Gladys Akpa picked up injuries making way for Ifeoma Ikenokwalu and Catherine Kenneth respectively. A moment that limited the hosts' substitution power.Patience Kalu, Chioma Wogu, Cynthia Aku and Ikenokwalu had opportunities to break the deadlock for the League Champions but had goalkeeper Andy to contend with as she made impressive saves to help her side return home with a point. After the game, Rivers Angels Chief Coach, Regina Akaraonye admitted the result wasn’t favorable to her side."It wasn't a good one for us to drop points at home but you should know that we didn't play a weak side," Akaraonye said."The forced changes actually affected our game plan.
