Nigeria striker Kelechi Iheancho admitted that his form in the FA Cup is being inspired by former Super Eagles stars Austin Jay Jay Okocha and Nwankwo Kanu who played for Bolton Wanderers and Arsenal respectively during their playing days in the Premier League.

The Foxes striker has scored 7 goals in 8 matches in the FA Cup so far as he claimed that he was inspired by ex-Super Eagles internationals.

The former Manchester City has not played many games as expected since the start of the season but his brace against Fleetwood Town in the FA Cup third round of the competition will definitely increase his chance to get a starring role under manager Claude Puel.

‘’I think the FA Cup has great memories and I think there have been Nigerian legends that have played in it as well, like Jay-Jay Okocha and Nwankwo Kanu,’’ Iheanacho told  LCFC TV. ‘’They’ve played in it, so it’s a great thing to play in the FA Cup.

I have great memories. I hope I’ll be in it and have one great memory, which is winning the FA Cup.’’Kanu won three FA Cups with Arsenal and Portsmouth, while Okocha made three appearances in the competition.
