Odion Ighalo (Red) has said he hopes to return to full training in three weeks after injuring his ankle last weekend.
Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo has said he expects to return to full training in three weeks from now, after suffering an ankle injury while playing for his Chinese cub, Changchun Yatai last weekend.
The 27-year old scored his first goals for Changchun but they still fell short, losing 3-2 to Obafemi Martins’ Shanghai Shenhua, before suffering an ankle injury, of which he has now confirmed he will be away for the next three weeks.Read also: 5 Nigerian players with most appearances in FIFA tournaments
“I am feeling better day by day, but I will return to training at gym and pool next week. Hopefully I will return fully in two or three weeks’ time,” he was quoted by ScoreNigeria.
“Then I will be back fully and better.”
The former Watford striker had failed to score prior to last weekend following his big-money move from the Premier League, but broke his duck in Chinese football with the pair of goals he scored in the 3-2 loss to Shanghai Shenhua.
