Injury blow as Ghanaian star Nuhu Musah set to miss 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The 22-year-old FC St. Gallen defender suffered an injury in Wednesday's training session in Dubai after colliding with teammate and Newcastle star Christian Atsu, as the team went about with preparations for the tournament.

Musah has been allowed to leave the Black Stars camp in Dubai and travel back to Switzerland according to a statement from the Ghana Football Association revealed.

"After an initial medical examination by the Black Stars medical team, Nuhu has been permitted to return to his club for further assessment. Nuhu will be accompanied by Team Psychologist, Dr Patrick Ofori," read the statement.

Coach James Kwesi Appiah hopes to win the fifth AFCON title after 37 years, but many football fans doubt if the current team can win the tournament in Egypt later this month as he will announce the 23-man squad for the competition on June 10.

Ghana will take on Namibia on June 9th, before facing Bafana Bafana of South Africa on June 15 ahead of the proper tournament in Egypt.
