Italy-based striker eyes World Cup spot with Super Eagles

Italy-based Nigerian striker Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo has declared that he will be glad if he is considered for the World Cup with the Super Eagles.Popularly referred to as ‘Simy’, in Italian circles, the striker has been in the news since his Ronaldo-like overhead kick goal against Juventus on Wednesday threw open the Serie title race.Nwankwo told SCORENigeria: “It will be great to be considered (for the World Cup by the Super Eagles).“It will be a dream come true.“If such a chance came, I hope to take it.
“I have been working hard in my day-to-day work at my club. That’s my focus now.”The 25-year-old also reflected on his much-talked-about goal that helped Crotone pegged back mighty Juventus.“It was great to score such a goal in a game like that,” he revealed.“It was not planned, it was instinctive, I took a quick decision and it went well.“It was also our first point against Juventus.”Simy 25, has featured in 18 games this season, starting 6, whilst also scoring 3 goals.
