Algeria lost to Ivory Coast in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals but are playing well enough to gain revenge at the same stage this year in Egypt at the New Suez Stadium on Thursday.

The Desert Foxes have arguably been the most impressive team so far in the 32nd edition of the continental competition rattling off four straight wins, with nine goals scored and none conceded but Les Elephants are obviously tough opponents.

The winners of the clash will then go on to face with SuperbEagles of Nigeria in the semi-final on Saturday.

Team News

Serge Aurier remains injured, meaning Mamadou Bagayoko will retain his place at right-back.

With no injuries or suspensions to deal Algeria coach Belmadi is likely to stick with the same line-up that overcame Guinea 3-0 in the last 16.

Head to Head

Ivory Coast and Algeria have met on 23 occasions with Desert Foxes earning eight victories to the seven for The Elephants with eight draw thrown in for good measure.

The Elephants have won three of their four games, conceding just twice, while Desert Foxes have won all four of their matches so far without conceding a single goal.
