JUST IN: Ex-Arsenal star offered long-term Bordeaux contract

Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has reportedly been offered a long-term contract as Bordeaux head coach.

The 41-year-old France legend recently quit his punditry position in the summer to concentrate on his coaching career, was linked with the English Championship Aston Villa job earlier this month.

Henry also has experience of working alongside Roberto Martinez with the Belgium national side, helping the Red Devils to a third-place finish at the World Cup before stepping down.

According to Sky Sports News reporting that all-time Arsenal highest goalscorer has asked for time to consider their offer and has confirmed that he will make a decision by the end of this week.

Bordeaux suspended Gus Poyet last week after the Uruguayan criticised the club's owners for selling striker Gaetan Laborde to rivals Montpellier without his permission.

Henry won 123 caps for France and he also played in the Ligue 1 with Monaco for five years from 1995-1999 before moving to Juventus and later Arsenal, Barcelona and New York Red Bull.
