JUST IN: Red hot striker wants Super Eagles invitation

Red hot striker Maccabi Tel Aviv attacker Chikeluba Ofoedu wants Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr to give him an invitation for next month's 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic. 

The 26-year-old striker joined Israel-based club last year from Turkish side Eskişehirspor where he featured 33 times and finding back of the net seven times.

Ofoedu emerging as the revelation of the 2011-2012 Nigeria Professional Football League season said via "I believe I have done a lot to attract a call to the National team and I trust I will not disappoint if given a chance to impress.”

I know how difficult it is to break into the Super Eagles due to numerous established and emerging talents at the disposal of Gernot Rohr, but I think I can bring something to the team’s attack if called to the team.”

"Coach Rohr should give me a chance with the Super Eagles”, Ofoedu US-based agent Dr. Corttrell Kinney added.

"His focus now is to play for the Super Eagles, because I know he his ripe for it to represent his fatherland.”

Ofoedu started his professional career with UNTH Healers FC before a spell with Enugu Rangers, 1461 Trabzon, Karşıyaka, Samsunspor, Eskişehirspor and Maccabi Tel Aviv.
