Kanu & two Super Eagles stars pay tribute to retired Drogba

Nwankwo Kanu plus two current Super Eagles players John Obi Mikel and Kenneth Omeruo have paid tribute to Ivory Coast and Chelsea legend Didier Drogba who recently announced his retirement from football.

The 40-year-old announced earlier this year that he was set to retire from the game but ex-Premier League striker seemingly changed his mind in the days following the end of his career with Phoenix Rising in the American soccer’s second division.

However, Drogba took to Twitter on Wednesday to post a message thanking fans, family and team-mates for helping guide his career and Kanu has wished two time African Footballer of the Year the best in his future endeavours as he tweet.

Super Eagles skipper Mikel who play with Drogba in Chelsea winning several titles together during their time in Stamford Bridge took his Instagram to paid tribute to African great. 

Omeruo was acquired by Chelsea in January 2012, six years before Drogba switched to Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua and defender said.

Drogba had two different spells at Chelsea, scoring 164 goals in 381 games and winning Champions League, four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups and two FA Community Shields and the striker played against Nigeria at the 2006, 2008 and 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, and scored 65 goals in 104 international outings.
