Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has opted to leave Lionel Messi at home for the Catalans' away game at Levante on Sunday.

Messi and his troops face its final road test of the season on Sunday when it travels south to Valencia to take on 16th place Levante.

Barca, having wrapped up the La Liga title two weeks ago, will approach this fixture with a single objective — one more step towards an undefeated season.

Rotations haven't been the coach's usual approach to LaLiga fixtures however the trip to the east coast will see the Argentine rested, despite his side's hopes of going the whole league campaign unbeaten.

Aleix Vidal is another to miss out, by tactical decision, with Sergi Roberto suspended and Samuel Umtiti absent due to a knee injury.

Barcelona squad to face Levante:

Goalkeepers: Ter Stegen, Cillessen

Defenders: Semedo, Pique, Yerry Mina, Vermaelen, Digne

Midfielders: Busquets, Rakitic, Paulinho, Andre Gomes, Denis Suarez, Iniesta, Coutinho

Attackers: Dembele, Alcacer, Suarez.
