Barcelona have failed in their bid to set the record of going all through the season in the La Liga without a defeat as they were beaten 5-4 in a nine-goal thriller by Levante on Sunday at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia.
Ghanian star Emmanuel Boateng did most of the havoc against Barcelona; scoring a hat-trick in the highly-entertaining tie.
Philippe Coutinho also scored a hat trick in Sunday's game but it was not enough to help Barcelona preserve their cherished unbeaten record.
Lionel Messi did not travel with the Barcelona squad to Levante, for their penultimate game of the season and that proved costly.
Levante went 2-0 in front thanks to a brace from Emmanuel Boateng.
Philippe Coutinho pulled a goal back in the 38th minute to leave them trailing by one at half-time.
But Barcelona slipped to 5-1 down as Boateng got his hat-trick and Enis Bardhi scored twice within 10 minutes.
However, Coutinho completed his own hat-trick with two goals in five minutes.
Luis Suarez then set up a grandstand finish with a cool finish from the penalty spot.

in a bid to get an equaliser
means Barcelona fail to go the whole season without losing.
It's Barca's first defeat since April 2017 when they were beaten by Malaga 400 days ago.
