Robert Lewandowski has reportedly asked Bayern Munich to allow negotiations with Real Madrid this summer for a transfer shortly after parting ways with his former agent.

Reports in the Spanish press on Thursday says the Poland international wants to join the European champions and despite Bayern ruling out a move, Diario AS suggest he personally put in a transfer request.

The 29-year old is said to have switched agent to Pini Zahavi - who has a reputation for concluding transfer deals - recently in order to drive a move to the Bernabeu through.

The German club’s CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge stated earlier this week the striker would ‘100% stay’ in Bavaria amid growing reports a deal may be possible.

AS report Bayern are targeting a series of potential replacements including Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata, RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner and Edinson Cavani of Paris Saint-Germain.

Rummenigge accepted Madrid were ‘the club of Robert’s dreams’ while separately, the club appear to be close to finalising a permanent move for James Rodriguez.
