Robert Lewandowski has requested permission from Bayern Munich to allow him to proceed with negotiations with Real Madrid this summer according to report in Spain.

The Polish striker wants to join the European Champions despite strong opposition from Bayern Munich who is ruling out a move.

Lewandoski, 29, is set to hand in a transfer request for a move to Real Madrid in the next summer window transfer according to Diario AS.

The Bayern Munich striker changed his agent to Pini Zahavi in a bid to foster a move to Santiago Bernabeu. Zahavi is known for his reputation of ensuring deal of this magnitude succeeds.

The German club’s CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge stated earlier this week the striker would ‘100% stay’ in Bavaria amid growing reports a deal may be possible.

Reports in AS also says that Bayern Munich is targeting a replacement for the Polish striker in case they fail to hold him back against his wish.

The German Champions have been linked with Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata, RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner and Edinson Cavani.

Rummenigge also admitted the fact that Lewandoski wants a move to the Spanish capital while Bayern Munich is also attempting to finalise a permanent move for James Rodriguez.
