Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp sent a message to Mohamed Salah ahead of  Napoli clash in the Champions League at Stadio San Paolo on Wednesday night.

The 25-year-old forward has endured a below-par start to the season scoring just three goals and two assists so far and Egypt international has shown hints of frustration in the last few weeks.

The German tactician admitted Salah is frustrated after he was hauled off in during 1-1 draw with dethroned Premier League Champions Chelsea as PFA players of the year was in the midst of a confidence crisis, and revealed the advice he has given to the attacker.

Klopp said he told Salah via Metro: "Be relaxed, completely relaxed because there is no need for anything else.

"The quality is there and so everything is fine. There’s nothing that I can tell you here (about what he had said to Salah) because that’s between us like always.

"But it was absolutely clear that we would stand in a situation like this here and talk about it.

"Even Harry Kane, he scored two goals last week, but before that people were saying ‘he’s not even half the Harry Kane of last year.

"For us, it is completely cool. If the player is not happy with it – that is clear. If you have a chance, you want to score.

"Even if Mo had scored 30 already, he would want 31, so that is disappointing for a player, but that’s all. There is no difference.

"It is completely normal, all good, as long as we perform like we have, everything will be fine.’

Liverpool are in Italy to take on Carlo Ancelotti’s side, but are expected to make changes due to the Premier League fixture against Manchester City at the weekend.
