Oxlade-Chamberlain is currently away on international duty with England and is expected to undergo a medical shortly, although it is unclear if this will take place on Merseyside or at the national team's training base at St George's Park.
The former Southampton youngster turned down a new improved deal at Arsenal earlier this month which would have seen him earn £180,000 a week.
