Liverpool is set to rival Real Madrid for RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano, the Reds has made an enquiry for the availability of young French player.
Upamecano has attracted has also attracted the interest of Real Madrid as he is been admired by Real coach Zinedine Zidane.
According to Don Balon, RB Leipzig has attempted to hold new contract talks with Upamecano, but he has so far resisted. Real president Florentino Perez has been kept up-to-speed on developments and is considering a January move for the defender.
However, he knows Liverpool is also serious about Upamecano and boast a closer relationship with RB Leipzig thanks to their deal for Naby Keita - which has been appreciated by the Germans.
