Man City 1-0 West Ham: Aguero's lone goal saves City blushes

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero's goal from the spot kick saves Pep Guardiola's men blushes in their PremierLeague clash against West Ham United on Wednesday evening at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City set the ball rolling with an attacking display just from the start of the game with Kelvin de Bruyne effort narrowly miss the target.

Manchester City had more attempt in the opening 10 minutes but yet to hit the target as West Ham remained compact in the defence.

Manchester City defender Nicolas Otamendi came close to break the deadlock but his attempt went narrowly wide, though Manchester City retained possession they were unable to break the wall on Manuel Pellegrini's men.

They first half ended in 0-0 draw at the Etihad.

Manchester City boss Pep withdrew Riyad Mahrez and was replaced by Raheem Sterling in the 55th minute and just after three minutes he made his second substitute as he removed Leroy Sane for Bernardo Silva.

Sergio Aguero scored from the penalty spot after Felipe Anderson bad challenge on Manchester City player in the box in the 59th minute.

Luukasz Fabianski was forced into a save after he prevented Sterling long-range effort, the Polish goalkeeper was forced into another save in the 67th minute after he denied aguero from getting the second goal.

Aguero connected with Sterling in the box but the English forward failed to hit the target.
