Manchester City attacker Kevin de Bruyne has sent a warning to Liverpool after the Reds’ victory over Manchester United on Sunday to leapfrog The Etihad outfit on the Premier League standing.

De Bruyne is now fit again after spending six weeks on the sideline due to a knee injury.

The Belgian midfielder is ready to help Pep Guardiola’s men challenge for the league title which they won 19 points clear of their nearest rivals last season but De Bruyne cannot envisage a repeat of that.

"I don't know why they can't sustain it - I think they will go on to the end," he said.

"I'm not too worried about them [because] they will do what they do and we'll have to try to win our games and go forward. They'll try to keep pace with us and vice versa.

"But it's still early. There's no pressure. We need to do what we do.”

Manchester City will entertain Crystal Palace in their next Premier League game.
