Manchester City paid tribute to Willy Caballero following his move to premier league champions Chelsea.

The 35-year-old left the Citizens as a free agent this summer after they failed to renew his deal and the Blues snapped him up as replacement for Asmir Begovic who moved to Bournemouth.

Caballero told Chelsea official website after signing: ‘I am very happy to join Chelsea, the champions of England. I am looking forward to meeting the guys and helping the club achieve more success in the coming season.'

Caballero reunited with former Malaga manager Manuel Pellegrini in 2014 when he moved to the Etihad but mostly played second fiddle to Joe Hart.

The highlight of his time at Manchester City was helping them win the 2016 League Cup final by saving the decisive penalties from Lucas, Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana to beat Liverpool in the final at Wembley.
