EPL By: Iseghohi Odianosen | 26/02/2019

Manchester City will host Westham United at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday in their next Premier League clash, here are details you need to know before the match between the defending Champions and the Hammers.

TEAM NEWS:

MANCHESTER CITY:

Pep Guardiola will be without Fernandinho and America Laporte, the two players limped off during the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea at the Wembley Stadium.

The pair is expected to miss some weeks of action for the Etihad outfit.

WESTHAM UNITED:

Andriy Yarmolenko and Jack Wilshere are expected to miss the tie due to injury while Fabian Balbuena is nearing a return to full fitness from injury.

Winston Reid is also doubtful for the clash against the Premier League Champions.

HEAD TO HEAD:

Manchester City had a better head to head record in recent times, the Etihad outfit has won the previous six meetings.

West Ham's last win over City did come at the Etihad, though, when they pulled off a 2-1 victory over the then table-topping hosts in September 2015.

Pep Guardiola is yet to suffer a defeat against West Ham in the Premier League.

RECENT FORM:

MANCHESTER CITY:

Pep Guardiola’s men have been in form, the Premier League Champions have won four games in their last five Premier League games and they remain a major contender in the race to win the Premier League.

WESTHAM UNITED:

The hammers have not been so impressive in their last run of five games, they won one, drew two and lost two in the process.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men are 9th on the Premier League table but they are on a poor run of form ahead of the clash against Manchester City.

PREDICTIONS:

Manchester United 3-0 Westham United
