Man Utd legend names Chelsea defender as EPL best defender - FCNaija

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has taken a swipe at Jose Mourinho and his former side, after they exited the Champions League at the round of 16 to Sevilla.

Romelu Lukaku’s second half goal was not enough as Ben Yedder’s brace proved the difference for the Spanish side, who went through 2-1 on aggregate, and Ferdinand was left disappointed with the outcome of the match.

Ferdinand went as far as to say United's players looked like strangers, while Mourinho himself astonishingly proclaimed: “That's football, it's not the end of the world.”

“They went out there and played nervously and cautiously, you’ve got to take the game by the scruff of the neck. They gave nothing for the fans to cheer about.

“Top teams don’t pick and choose when they play. They are consistently good.”

Ferdinand added: “The attitude seemed off. Lethargic. The onus was on them to attack but they started conservatively. This team looked like a team who didn't have it in them to win it.”
