The Manchester United squad departed for Los Angeles on Sunday as they prepared to embark on their preseason tour of the United States.

It was a depleted United squad with their World Cup stars still away, while the duo of Alexis Sanchez and Daley Blind were also not on the plane to the United States. Blind’s case is understandable as he is on his way back to Ajax.

The Red Devils boarded a plane from Manchester Airport as they geared up for their five-match tour which will see them play matches in five different US cities.

Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw were pictured at the airport as they embark on United's preseason despite uncertain futures at the club.

Shaw is determined to win back his place but is entering the final 12 months of his United deal with manager Jose Mourinho still unconvinced by the left back.

Martial meanwhile is being pursued by Tottenham and the north London club have made the Frenchman one of their top transfer targets this summer window.

United fly to Los Angeles for preseason without a number of their key first-team players, who were involved at this summer's World Cup.
