Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly switched his attention to AS Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan, with Tottenham Hotspur refusing to acknowledge interest in Eric Dier.

The Portuguese coach Mourinho has brought Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku to Old Trafford this summer, but it is understood that the Portuguese still wants to sign a central midfielder and a winger before the August kickoff.

According to the Daily Mail, the Belgium international could cost £40 million and is said to be receptive to the possibility of a move that sporting director Monchi might also sign off on to further raise funds to improve Roma's squad, despite publicly assuring fans the player will stay.

Eric Dier is also a target for Manchester United, but Spurs are adamant he will not be leaving this summer.

While Dier would be a good buy for Manchester United, the club would have to pay an inordinate amount of money to land him, particularly when taking into account Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy's reputation for driving a hard bargain.

29-year-old joined Roma from Cagliari in 2014 initially on loan and has scored 28 times in 160 appearances for the Italian giants, including 15 goals during the 2016-17 campaign.
