Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly ready to seek advice from club captain Michael Carrick to help identify and assess the transfer targets this summer.

The 36-year-old set hangs his boot at the end of this season, after which he will join the Portuguese backroom staff as a coach.

According to Metro, Mourinho major transfer target in the summer is to replace Carrick, particularly due to the ongoing uncertainty over the future of Marouane Fellaini as former Chelsea and Inter Milan coach has been asked England international to cast his eye over potential recruits.

Manchester United have identify Lazio's Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, while they have also been heavily linked with Shakhtar Donetsk's Fred and Napoli's Jorginho.

Mourinho has reportedly entrusted Carrick to run the rule over the trio and will consider his opinion when it comes to making the final decision over which player to pursue.

Carrick has been at Old Trafford for the last 12 years, making 463 appearances and scoring 24 goals.
