Manchester United legend Roy Keane slams Chelsea star David Luiz after the defender pulled down an opponent in the box to give Atletico Madrid a first-half lead in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Luiz gave away a penalty in an attempt to save a corner kick from Atletico Madrid which Griezmann made no mistake to deal with but good second half display from Chelsea saw Alvaro Morata and Michy Batshuayi gave the Blues a 2-1 victory.
The win has placed the Premier League Champions on top of the Group C standings with six points from two games followed by Roma with four points, Atletico Madrid with one point and Qarabag FK with zero point after two games.
Despite the victory, Keane didn’t hold back in his criticism of the Brazilian’s performance. “It’s madness really – it’s a form of cheating,”
he told ITV.“Why he’s doing it is beyond me. He’s lazy and he’s letting his teammates down.“He knows himself. There’s no need. We see a lot of that going on, so I’m glad he got punished for it. It’s a form of cheating.”
It’s been an eventful couple of weeks for Luiz coupled with the studs-up lunge on Arsenal’s Sead Kolasinac a couple of weeks ago in the Premier League.
Chelsea will return to action in the Premier League this weekend as the defending Champions take on Manchester City on Saturday at the Stamford Bridge.
