Manchester United is set to outbid Real Madrid in the race to sign a Premier League star ahead of the coming season.

According to report in the Mirror Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen is a top priority for the Old Trafford giants and the Manchester United hierarchy is willing to triple Reiksens's wage of £80,000-a-week to £240,000-a-week all in a bid to ensure they sign the Dane when the transfer window opens.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been in talks with the vice chairman of the club Ed Woodward about a squad overhaul this summer and Eriksen was seen as a major player that is needed in the midfield.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will not entertain the idea of selling his stars to his Premier League rivals, he prefers to do business with the club outside England.

The case of Eriksen might be a bit different, the Dane midfielder having just two months away from entering the final year of his contract, a move to Real Madrid is also on the cards.
